Good Wine-Good Friends-Good Knitting!!

Jerry's answer.....from the last blog.....number #4 is the correct one!  Pauline had the right answer....hehe....he did his own laundry...hehe!

Well, our drive from Myrtle Beach to Davenport was a great drive until we got close to Orlando...and lots and lots of traffic.  There seems to be construction in a lot of areas and this slows down traffic a lot.  We are settled in our house and I've attached a few pics of it.  Our first day, Saturday, I had to give the vehicle a good vacuuming and washing.  Then Sunday we all went to get our groceries...and got them all packed in the kitchen; Jerry got his run in.  We picked up Jean & Art late on Sunday; they had a long day as they left Ch'town very early in the am and then spent the day in TO with Michelle and visited friends and arrived here at 11:3lpm.

On Monday, we just vegetated and had Pauline & Erroll over for supper.  We had a great supper and visit.  It was not as warm as it had been....around 68.  Today was a lot nicer around 79.   Eric, Art & Jerry went to the Blue Jays Baseball game today against Detroit...won by the Blue Jays.  Jean, Lillian and I went shopping - great day.  Jerry got his run in today and Art had a walk around the area and Eric went for a bike ride.  Lots of fun was had by all in the pool (except Jean)...hehe.

Tomorrow...Pauline is coming over to do a 'pool class' with us...Eric is going to lead the class, but we may have to relieve him every now and then...hehe.

Good Luck Charlene...tomorrow in your semi-finals game! xoxo

Body Burn!!

Well, we’ve got our monies worth from our classes here at the Plantation Resort.  The remainder of the week we attended:  a Splash & Tone class, an Aquatics and Aqua Pilates in the indoor heated pool, and a Zumba, Pilates and Body Burn class in the Aerobics Room.  We really enjoyed them.  Plus Jerry got his runs and gym in this week also.

We went to a Vineyard Tour at “La Belle Amie” vineyard which was about a 40 minute drive which included the shuttle drive there, a tour of the vineyard, our lunch and of course the ‘wine tasting’.  I have included some pics of grapevines that are 140 years old(bushy on top) and some that are 21 years old.  It was a very interesting place as the owner gave us the tour while telling her family story.

On Wednesday did a 2 hour bike ride along the Atlantic near Surfside Beach; then walked on the beach for an hour and that morning did two classes....so this was our busiest exercise day...hehe.  Our last day here we spent at the outdoor pool at the resort…weather today was probably in high 70’s.   I’ve attached some pics of the resort.

I've put a picture of a K-9 spot...especially for you Chase & Grace....you can bring Phinley here for her - Birthday Pawties....hehe...check out the sign on the building.

Tomorrow we leave early in the am for our next destination, Davenport, FL.  We are anxious to meet up with our ‘old Ch’town’ neighbours who’ve been travelling from PEI the last 3 days.  Also we are having a visit from my Sis Jean, and her hubby, Art.  Looking forward to spending some time with them.

Also, tomorrow, I’ll be sending my prayers to my Mom and Sisses and Bro who are travelling to Borden, Ontario to watch our baby Sis in the Military National Women’s Hockey Championship; as her team had won the Atlantics in Halifax, NS.

So….here’s hoping that that ‘white stuff’ that you are now experiencing, on PEI at least, won’t be around too long!!xoxo

Enjoying Myrtle Beach!

Well, today is our third full day here.  The weather is high 70s….lovely weather.

The resort is huge, it has 580 rooms.  We are glad to have our bikes with us as we are using them a lot here.

Jerry got a couple of runs in so far and the Activity/Aerobics rooms here are very busy.  So far we’ve been able to attend the following classes(all free):  Power Hour (Muscle training), Aqua Yoga(Indoor pool), Cardio Currents(Indoor pool), Hatha Yoga (only me..hehe), and more to follow in the upcoming days.  The gym is a good one, the outdoor pools are nice and big here also…there is a nice play area pool and lazy river…oh how we'd love to have Brielle and Mila here with us..hehe!!

Yesterday we decided to walk to see if we could reach the Myrtle Beach State Park….but didn’t quite make it…we walked 1.5 hrs one way and I said “OK, time to turn around”..hehe.  So, today, we drove there as we spent the afternoon on the beach.  It is a lovely beach, very long and nice to walk.  I have some pics of it below.

Jerry is doing very good cooking on a 2-burner hot plate with only a small frying pan and one pot…yummy meals…I’m spoiled for sure.

Tonight we went to the movies….to see “The Reverant” (yes, we still had not seen it).

Marcella, there is one picture below that I took because it reminded me of Arnie...ask Blair to figure out which one...hehe?

Jerry’s Facts
The most the popular question to date is:  What is your health care like?

·        The trip from Gatlinburg to Myrtle Beach took only seven hours but we traveled on 12 different  highways (8 of which were divided)

·      The most scariest moment to date: our CAA trip  map  from Gatlinburg to Myrtle Beach took us through a side road in Tennessee.  A part of the  road was only one car wide and at one point we went literally through the middle of a car junk yard!! We didn’t stop to take a picture as Jerry was worried a hillbilly would come out with a gun!! hehe

·        I found out I’m not very good at aerobics (I can’t make my arms go the opposite way from my legs)

·        Facts on Myrtle Beach
o   48 parks and public beaches
o   650 acres of public parks
o   In the summer, the population goes from 50k to 350k
o   100 golf courses in a 30 mile radius

What time is it?

Howdy...well Friday, after our 'eventful break-in' day...we spent the day doing laundry, cooking and packing and Jerry went to the gym while I took a spin to some local artisan shops.  We took a final walk around the Tree Tops Resort...and by some of the pictures below...you'll see some of the resort is really in the tree tops.

We left early Saturday morning for Myrtle Beach.  We did have trouble finding our resort as the GPS was not cooperating and our trip map from CAA had the incorrect address.  We eventually found it with the GPS and below are a few pictures of the inside of our spot.  Jerry is missing the size of the kitchen we had in Gatlinburg for sure, as here he only has one small pot and one small frying pan.  Oh well, we won't starve for sure...hehe.

We were up fairly early this morning, in time to go for a walk around the resort before church.  As the catholic church is only a 10 min. drive from us...we left with lots of time.  First of all..it is a very big church, big parking lot....not a parking spot to be found!  Cars are parked everywhere..on the walkways, on the grass...it was just so nice to see a full parking lot at the church; unlike home.  So, we walk in the front door and there is a line-up going in...so a volunteer with the church passes by so I asked her "Is this the line-up to get in the church" (I figured there were no seats left and we were there well 10-15 minutes before mass...or so I thought).  She replied "Oh no dear, that is the line-up from the overflow hall and they are in the communion line-up.  OH YES.....we didn't change our watches....but our phone and I-Pad did change...but we hadn't noticed that...hehe.  So, thank heavens, there is another mass at 5 this evening....don't worry, my watch is now changed, I won't miss it...hehe:
