First couple of days!

Well, I'll try to keep you updated on our travels to the 'hopefully' warm South.

Well, we spent a enjoyable evening with Maria on Thursday,  March 3rd.  She had a lovely supper for us when we arrived.  We did not get to see Jamie this trip as he was gone to NFLD to see his Dad.  Thanks Maria for your hospitality.  Great travelling weather today.

Then, Friday evening, we spent the night with Doreen & Armand, in Peabody, MA.  We were truly spoiled there too with a  lovely barbecued supper and breakfast with great company.   It was so nice to see Doreen & Armand who will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary this coming October.  We also got to see their daughter, Krissy and her german shepherd, Shelby.  Today's weather was good until our last hour of driving ... it was snowy and slushy with a lot of traffic and poor visibility.  We were glad to get to Peabody and found out that evening that there were a lot of accidents (including a 40 car pile-up) on the highways.

So now it is Saturday evening, and we're settled in our hotel in Winchester, Virginia.  Tomorrow we should arrive at our first destination...Gatlinburg, Tennessee.
